The Magical “Cut and Paste”

March 29, 2016

“Can’t you just cut and paste it? It’s not that complicated…”

Programmers/developers often hear this from management and other teams.
I get that all the time, too.

Yes, it’s annoying 🙂

It’s like asking a CEO, “we can just IPO, right? It’s not that complicated”

We all know it’s not that simple.

Where does this come from?

For most non-developers, their interaction with computers are usually pretty limited to web browsing and office productivity apps (Microsoft Office or Google Apps).

In those apps, “Cut & Paste” works magically.
In programming, not so much.
